New Colourway: Heathered Green Textilene Square Woven Outdoor Carpet

Nov 6,2026

The square carpet series has a new ground colour: a heathered green Textilene outdoor carpet, flecked with cream and braided in straight parallel herringbone rows. It joins the heathered terracotta square in the same construction — the same yarn, the same braid, the same bound edge — and opens a cooler palette for patios, pool decks and planted gardens. This article walks through the material, the weave and the scenes it was specified for.

1. A Cooler Palette for the Same Construction

The green shade was asked for more than any other colour this season: planting-heavy gardens, stone paving and grey decking all pull a floor covering toward the green side of the palette. The heathered ground mixes green and cream yarn in the braid itself rather than printing a flat colour, so the face reads as texture from two metres and as a solid, quiet green from across the terrace. It sits with timber decking, stone paving, rattan and neutral outdoor fabric without competing with them.

The construction is unchanged from the rest of the series. Each yarn is a bundle of high-tenacity polyester filament inside a PVC coating that carries the pigment and the UV stabilisers, each cord is braided from that yarn, and the rows are laid in straight passes across the full width. The heathered terracotta square carpet covers the warm end of the palette; this piece covers the cool end.

2. Why Textilene Yarn Belongs Outdoors

Four properties decide how a carpet behaves outside: what the yarn is made of, what covers its outer face, how air moves through the braid, and what additives sit in the compound.

A Coated Face, Not a Raw Fibre

Cotton, jute and sisal meet rain bare and take it in. Here the outermost layer is a PVC compound carrying the colour and the UV package, so rain and pool splash stay on the surface of the yarn instead of travelling into the fibre.

Polyester Filament Carries the Load

The high-tenacity filament bundle inside each yarn takes the tensile load, so the braid holds its firmness under lounge chairs, dining sets and foot traffic season after season.

Chlorine, Salt and Sun Stable

The compound is formulated to resist pool chlorine, coastal salt air and UV exposure, and the shade carries a three-year outdoor colour rating. Air moves through the braid, so the piece dries in place after rain or a hose-down.

3. The Weave: Herringbone Rows, Bound on Four Sides

Each cord is braided in a tight herringbone pattern and laid in straight parallel passes, each row seated against the previous one with tension held constant from edge to edge. That is why the surface stays even underfoot and why a 200 x 200 cm square keeps a true edge line on all four sides.

The perimeter is closed with a matching braid bind, so no raw yarn end is left exposed to fray or work loose in service. Corners are trimmed square and bound at the same time, which lets the carpet sit flush to a step edge or the base of a lounge set without turning up at the point.

4. Where It Fits: Five Outdoor Scenes

The square format was specified for the places an outdoor floor actually gets used:

  • Patio — as the base layer under a lounge chair and a side table, defining the sitting zone on a hard surface.
  • Pool deck — the chlorine-resistant compound and the surface-reading construction suit wet-foot traffic around the water.
  • Balcony — the low-profile braid clears door thresholds, and a 120 x 120 cm square covers most balcony floors in one piece.
  • Terrace — several squares can be laid edge to edge to dress a larger paved area without a seam line showing.
  • Garden — on gravel or flagstone, the green ground sits the carpet into planting rather than against it.

5. Styling the Heathered Green

Green reads best when it is repeated at least once elsewhere in the scene — a potted olive, ferns in terracotta, a sage-toned cushion — and grounded by one warm material such as timber or rattan. On grey composite decking and pale stone, the cream flecking in the braid keeps the green from going flat; on warm sandstone, it deepens toward olive. Furniture with pale cushions and black or timber frames keeps the floor as the quiet centrepiece of the setting.

6. Square Formats, Custom Sizes and Low MOQ

Standard Square Sizes

120 x 120, 150 x 150 and 200 x 200 cm are held as standard specifications; rectangular formats are produced on the same construction on request.

Custom Palettes

The heathered effect is mixed at the yarn stage, so a different ground colour — or a two-tone stripe — can be developed against a Pantone or physical sample.

Edge Finish, Label and Packaging

Bind colour, woven labels and retail packaging are specified per programme, so the piece arrives shelf-ready.

MOQ from 100 Pieces

Customised programmes start at 100 pieces per size, and colourways can be mixed within one order.
